Weekend Recap: iPhone Snaps

This top on fleek (haha, have you heard that term yet?).   for Christmas–couldn’t resist pulling it out and wearing it stat.  Bonus, it’s reversible!

Outfit deets:  Zara romper (old, similar here) & The Bay necklace (old)

On Friday night we went to a holiday party–just a get together that was planned only a few days prior, but hey, any reason to celebrate.  Since the dress code was ‘festive’, I threw on this romper I purchased from Zara over two years ago and wore it finally for the first time.

More photos after the jump…

I threw together this super quick but always crowd-pleasing appetizer:

Roll out Pillsbury crescent roll dough into a square, place a brie wheel in the centre, top with frozen cranberries & fold together into a point.  Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes (or until golden brown) and let you guests cut into it right away.

‘Amanduuuuuuh’

On Saturday we slept in, hit the gym and came home and spent several hours cleaning and prepping for dinner.  We decided to have a bit of an impromptu turkey dinner…

After the cleaning was done, I ran out to Home Sense to look for some sort of table-scape.  We don’t have placemats, let alone a table runner since when it’s just us we kick it very casually.  That said, I wanted it to be pretty and I managed to score everything I needed there.  I wasn’t sure the ‘look’ I was going for but had thoughts of silver, white and nature-inspired elements with a touch of chic (this caught my eye).

The table-runner is a lined burlap with a metallic silver stencil at both ends, which was what I found first.  The napkins were off white and since we didn’t have napkin rings, I simply tied a silver ribbon around and hid the knot on the underside.  The placemats are square, which I thought was cool and different and great for our hi-top square cocktail table.

For the centre piece, I had planned to use random decor we already have but after a quick search on Pinterest, I found this photo which inspired me to look around further.  I picked up a wide, low glass vase and found a cream-coloured candle that fit perfectly.  It still needed more so I found a snowy, glittery garland that fit the bill, wrapped it around the base twice and it was a done deal.  You can see a better picture of the table here.

On Sunday morning we were up early (well, Marco’s 7am early is a little different than my almost-9am-early).  He made us breakfast and we packed up to hit the slopes!

We went to Mont. Saint Marie and had a really great late morning/early afternoon ride.  The conditions were really great and I was shocked when he told me it was -12C as it didn’t feel terribly cold–bonus!  Also, two thumbs up for no broken bones!

We spent the evening hanging out at home.

Lastly, I did mention that I’m vlogging everyday for the month of December.  I’m not sharing them on my blog so you have to subscribe to my YouTube channel and check them out there, if you’d like.  Hope you had a great weekend!
