Instagram Outfits for Summer Evenings & Work

DRAPE-FRONT BLAZER  |  TANK (LOVE THIS ONE)  |  DIY DENIM SHORTS – FROM THRIFTED MEN’S PANTS  – OLD (SIMILAR)  |  IRO HEELS

I’m back for another post about various Instagram, Facebook & Snapchat (I’m acoest1984) outfits.  I love sharing these because it’s a great look at what I wear on a daily basis as I can’t always do the full-on photoshoot.  This time it’s a mixture of work-wear and evenings out.  We’ve had some up and down weather this Summer so I’ve still been wearing a ton of pants or will cover up on top and bare my legs for evening (my fave).

TOP  |  ZARA PANTS – OLD (SIMILAR, LOVE THESE)  |  LACE UP POINTY-TOE FLATS (OBSESSED!)

I purchased these trousers last Summer and only wore then a handful of times but this Summer they have been on repeat weekly!  They have a nice stretch to them but stay snug and everyone always comments on how fun they are (plus we could technically say it’s a nice change from all the neutrals I wear).

H&M SWEATER – OLD (LOVE THIS)  |  F21 SKIRT (SIMILAR)  |  LILIANA WEDGES (SIMILAR)  |  FRINGE BAG  |  SUNNIES

When I purchased this mineral wash skirt back in the winter, I wasn’t sure how much wear I would get out of it, but I love it.  I’ve worn it numerous times for work this Summer and while the wash is a little more casual, I like that it’s a darker, subtle print.

BILLABONG TANK (WANT THIS NEXT)  |  HARLOW SHORTS (SIMILAR)  |  NECKLACE

I know I keep saying this, but this tank and these shorts are another favourite this Summer.  They are new additions to my closet and the tank has been on repeat with denim, shorts, white skinnies and more–it’s such an edgy piece that I love.  I used to shy away from more masculine pieces, like muscle tees, but when paired with girly accessories, it feels like I should have been wearing them for years.  I feel like myself, which is always a great feeling when leaving the house.

VERO MODA BLOUSE  |  LE CHATEAU SKIRT – OLD (SIMILAR)  |  LACE UP HEELS (ON SALE!)  |  BAG

This is definitely more of my old style but a very pretty business casual look.  Sometimes I’ll throwback to my pencil skirt days but ultimately I prefer an edgier, more laid back look (give me all the leather!).

TANK (HAVE THIS) |  SISLEY JOGGERS FROM ITALY (SIMILAR, CUTE JUMPSUIT OPTION)  |  BAG  |  IRO HEELS (SIMILAR)

This tank is another item I purchased several months ago, somewhat on a whim and ended up loving it.  I reach for it weekly and it’s kind of embarrassing how frequently I want to wear it!

OLD NAVY TANK – OLD (SIMILAR)  |  URBAN PLANET SKINNIES – DIY’ED (SIMILAR)

This was the outfit I wore for the evening party for Canada Day–red and white fits the bill!  I swapped out my shorts for pants when the temperatures dropped but kept it fun with the ripped denim.

JOE FRESH TOP – OLD (SIMILAR)  |  WHITE PENCIL SKIRT  |  ZARA SLIDES  |  BAG

I’ve been on the hunt for a black and white striped tee and can’t seem to find the perfect one in stores (that linked up one is pretty cute but a little pricier).  Essentially this one I’m wearing is a great fit, but it’s navy and won’t work with the olive green & black jacket I want to pair it with.

SUPRA SOCIETY HI-TOPS (ALSO LOVE THE WHITE)

My new love!  I ordered these online after coveting them for over a year in various colours.  As soon as I saw the grey, I was sold.  These are my third pair of Supra’s and are really cool (not as comfortable as my black ones though).  I ordered these mainly for the gym, but could also see them for everyday with white skinnies.

FREE PEOPLE SWEATER (SIMILAR)  |  F21 SPORTS BRA – SOLD OUT (SIMILAR)  |  SILVER DENIM SHORTS – DIY’ED (GREAT PRICE)  |  URBAN PLANET SANDALS (SIMILAR, SIMILAR)  |  BAG

I wore this out to dinner with a girl friend a few weeks back.  We were just going for a casual Viet meal and I wanted to look cute–especially since she always does–but comfortable; this fit the bill.

I DIY’ed these shorts years ago and am kind of surprised how frequently I’m grabbing them this Summer!  They were another pair of men’s jeans I found at the thrift store and hacked up–best $10 or so ever spent.  If you’re looking for the perfect pair, perhaps a trip to your local thrift shop will yield you your newest (and custom) favourites!
