Who else is feeling like spring could potentially be around the corner? We typically don’t get spring-like temps here in Ottawa until late April or May, and although it’s still freezing, it’s sunny days and dry roads for me!
Today’s post is all about shackets–I picked this on up at Zara a while back (it’s sold out now, but I’m sharing a ton of similar ones at the bottom of the post), and have been dying to share it on here, styled in a winter-friendly way. I wore this under my teddy coat (this one is similar), out to brunch the other day, and it was the perfect casual, wrangle-the-baby, yet still pulled together, look.
O U T F I T D E T A I L S : ZARA SHACKET (SIMILAR, SIMILAR) | LE CHATEAU HAT | ZARA TANK | SPANX FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS | DR. MARTENS BOOTS | CELINE BAG | RAY-BAN SUNGLASSES
I’m really loving this shacket, it’s a similar denim twill fabric and has the big buttons and pockets–it would be my choice of all of them! The great thing about these are you can layer them up now with long sleeve tops, leggings or denim + boots, and later as the temperatures rise, with a slim fitting dress + sneakers or shorts and a tank.
Other cute styles I’ve seen are this from my fave brand, this cropped sherpa shacket, this longer/midi length one (especially great for current temps) and this corduroy one is definitely giving me all the 90’s vibes.
Tip: if you’re looking on Zara, these are usually called an ‘overshirt’ or ‘pocket shirt’.
How was your weekend? We have been feverishly working away on the basement the last week, every night and it’s tiring! Literally the home stretch of reno’s. I’ve done little in comparison to Marco, but still. This weekend, I scooted out to the mall for a quick retail therapy trip while Hendrix napped. I snagged a couple new pieces so will share them in the coming days.
Hope you had a great weekend xo
