It’s May and I couldn’t be more excited to see those buds on the trees and the grass becoming a lush green. I find I always break out of my neutrals when the weather starts to warm up and I start incorporating a bit more colour. This red peplum top was a piece I scored during the Shopbop Sale back in March (full try on post here) and I’m totally obsessed!
It’s definitely a bit of an investment piece, but the fabric is thick, there is an interior shelf bra, the structure is great, it runs true to size (I went with medium) and fits so well. I’m trying to track it down in white, in my size, because I know I would get so much wear out of it.

Lately, I have been on a bit of a red kick–and for someone who didn’t own anything red except this skirt, it’s surprising even me! I find, since I’m on the fair side (any time you see me with a tan, it’s definitely the spray-on variety), reds with cool/blue undertones work best on me. If you tan easily or have a more olive complexion (lucky you!), a warmer/orange undertone red would be your best bet.
