THE BEST BUDGET-FRIENDLY DISTRESSED DENIM SKIRT

Hey girls, happy Thursday!  Apologies for the lack of posts this week (and last)–I’m coming off a three week bout of anxiety and man, that will really make you want to just curl up in front of the tv and finally relax.

I’ve talked about my anxiety before, and it’s something that flares up randomly with no telling of how long it will last.  Sometimes it’s just a few days, other times it weeks to over a month.  Sometimes I can work through it, and sometimes it’s debilitating and it’s hard to function.  The one thing that helps is working out, but when my anxiety is really bad, sometimes it’s even hard to push myself to get to the gym (usually on day 1).

I know things in blog-land everywhere always looks so perfect, but it’s not, and I don’t want you to think my life is perfect, because it’s not.  I work hard to keep things positive here, but I know sometimes that can even bring one down.  Trust me, I have my days where I need to shut off Instagram and just focus on real life and be remind myself that’s not real.  I think this is potentially a topic for another day, if it’s something that would interest you…

Speaking of real life, um yep, my fake tan is definitely streaky on the legs… and it often is because I find that the hardest part to get even!  #palegirlprobs   It used to really bother me, but not so much anymore.  I’m doing my best and if my tan is a little wonky, whatever.  😛

O U T F I T  D E T A I L S  : OFF SHOULDER RUFFLE TOP  |  HIGH-WAIST DISTRESSED DENIM SKIRT  |  ALDO ESPADRILLES — ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD (SIMILAR, SIMILAR, LOVE THESE)  |  BAG (BUDGET FRIENDLY)

Okay, onto the outfit–this perfect medium blue denim skirt has been on repeat lately and I love that it’s under $40!  I had seen a couple higher priced ones (mainly this one) that I really liked, but spending that much on a skirt I will wear maybe once every two weeks for four months of the year didn’t seem quite as reasonable as putting it towards denim or a coat–you know?

Anyway, when I saw this one, it was perfect.  I am usually a size 10 at H&M but went with an 8 for this one–it sits high on the waist and is snug.  There isn’t a ton of stretch to it, so keep that in mind if you’re purchasing online, but I love the uneven hem, the colour and the style in general.  Definitely looks pricier than it is.

As far as wearing this outfit, I’m trying to include a little blurb more often as to where I’d wear something like this because I know a few of you girls have mentioned that would be helpful.  This is definitely a weekend look for me, and easy to wear out to a lunch date or even dinner on a patio.  Knowing me, and if we’re going out downtown and will be walking, I’d likely throw on a flat gladiator sandal or slides to dress this down for a casual but stylish afternoon look.  This outfit would also look really great with statement earrings for senorita vibes.
