AN EASY WAY TO TRANSITION INTO FALL

While I’m not quite ready for cooler temps, I’m honestly not mad at this in-between weather we’ve been having.  The perfect time to pull out all the new fall items you may have scored recently (ahem, the Nordstrom sale, perhaps?) and pair them with some summery pieces.

One way I love to transition my pieces from summer to fall is by pairing a trendy sweater–think bell sleeves, an open back or a thin-knit–with a shorter skirt.  The look is perfectly balanced because you’re not showing too much skin, but you’re also weather appropriate and stylish.

Obviously I’m a total pants/denim girl, but I love a good skirt or fancy pair of shorts to elevate a look, especially on the weekends.  The shorter hemline is begging to be taken out on the town, but you could easily swap in some flats for daytime roaming around the city.

Okay I’m signing off, a few too many late nights this week and I need to hit the hay.  Last night I went to visit my girlfriend who just had a baby which was wonderful and tonight I’m meeting up with some out of town friends for dinner.  Can’t wait for the weekend to unwind, get some laundry done and enjoy some free time.  Hope you enjoy your day!
