THE BEST BUDGET-FRIENDLY FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS + A STYLING TIP FOR CROSS-BODY BAGS

Hello from Florida!  Like I mentioned on Instagram this morning, there won’t be a Weekend Recap today as I’ll be compiling a big recap of our trip instead for next week, so wanted to share an outfit instead.

That said, we are having a great time, and spent the weekend in Clearwater Beach, right on the beach, which was awesome to grab breakfast steps away from our hotel and the water.  The weather is phenomenal here, it’s so sunny and warm and I definitely didn’t pack enough shorts!  Seems a little surreal to be wearing shorts in November when last week I was in a parka!

Enough about the weather, onto the outfit 🙂

I wanted to talk about a tiny trend we’ve been seeing with cross body bags that will instantly make you look more stylish.  You may have seen others doing this already, and it truly is the tiniest update to bring your look up to speed:

When pairing a jacket with your cross body bag, put your jacket on after you’ve put on your bag.  Essentially, you are wearing the bag inside the jacket, but typically it’s at the front of your body or the strap is longer and it will peek out the side.

Wearing your bag this way is a simple way to make your outfit look more current and give you those stylish girl vibes.  Super easy!

O U T F I T  D E T A I L S  :  ANORAK JACKET  |  LONG SLEEVE TEE  |  SUNGLASSES  |  NECKLACE  |  FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS —  UNDER $30!  |  ALDO BOOTS — OLD (SIMILAR, HAVE THESE)  |  BAG (BUDGET FRIENDLY OPTION)

These leggings!! You guys, I shared an entire rave about these on Instastories a couple weeks ago because they are just. so. good.  I initially saved up and splurged on a Topshop pair, which were a total bust once they came in the mail.  These leggings are 10 times better, aren’t too shiny, have a thicker feel to them, fit snug as a bug in a rug and are also under $30!  Such a steal, and I’m seriously debating if I should get a second pair… you know, ‘just in case’ lol

I would say these fit true to size, I went with a medium.  I took both the medium and large into the fitting room and tried the large on first.  They were  comfortable, and fit overall, but the back of the waistband was gaping and I was worried they would slide down as I wore them.  I’ll admit, the medium were a tight squeeze to get into, but when I got them on, were the perfect fit.

I’ve worn them a few times now and they give a little, so if you’re in between sizes, I’d suggest going to the size down as they will stretch a bit.  Another thing I love about them is the high waist and wide waistband–it doesn’t dig in and lies smooth.

As an aside, I wasn’t able to add these into the widget below nor on the homepage, so if you want them, you can find them here.  I did, however, add a couple of other pairs I like, but they aren’t as awesome of a price point.

Hope you girls are having a great Monday!
