MY 2018 RESOLUTIONS-ISH

life with aco 2018 goals, New Years resolutions, planner agenda

We are fully into 2018 here, and there’s no turning back.  Everyone has probably already asked you, ‘So, make any new year resolutions?‘ and you’ve either struggled to answer or maybe mumbled something along the lines of, ‘I don’t make resolutions’.  Either way, resolutions can be daunting.

I’ve never been a big fan of resolutions, a bar is often set so high for something you want to achieve and then there is no path or steps in place to achieve it.  As the months roll on, so does the lack of action towards your resolution and how horrible do you feel?  Awful.  Right?!  And who really needs that for their emotional-well-being?

So with all that said, spouting a list to check off for 2018 isn’t really me, but at the same time, I know I could benefit from a little structure in my life.  Maybe the reason I feel a little stagnant is because I’m not writing it down and setting a plan in place.  Maybe I can turn this around.

“BE LEAD BY YOUR DESIRE & INTUITION”

This year, I took it upon myself to set my first kind-of resolution: buy an agenda notebook (this layout to be exact).

I’m not really one for notebooks or lists, I like to keep things in my head and fly by the seat of my pants.  Whenever I’m feeling inspired.  Well, the problem with that is, I’m forgetful, lose track of time and there are definitely times where my creativity is running dry.  So, in October, I bought myself a planner and started using it as a way to kick start my new-year, same-me-but-better plan 😉  I figured if I could get into the habit before the new year, maybe it would stick… and I’m relieved to report, it’s kind of working.

I have been fairly consistently writing notes, planning my blog posts and drafting ideas in said agenda.  Could it be better?  Yes.  Could I plan more in advance than a week?  Absolutely.  Is it an improvement?  You better believe it!

2018 GOALS

Moving onto putting pen to paper… er… fingers to keyboard… there are a few things high on my list that have been swirling around in my head for a while now.  I’ve wandered towards them, with no clear cut action plan.  I know, in order to hit my goals, I need to be specific, strategic and organized.  This is not easy for me, but I know only I can do the work and while there are definitely days where I feel I cannot give anymore, there are also days where I know I could give way more.

I’m breaking down three of my big goals for this year & the actions I will take to achieve them (eek, I’m nervous putting this out there!):

(1)  Grow my YouTube Channel
(2)  Launch a Product
(3)  Grow my Email List

January

  • Introduce Weekly Vlogs
  • Buy a handheld tripod  —  done
  • Brainstorm other video ideas  — done
  • Design the graphics for the product

February

  • Order product & photograph
  • Design commerce website
  • Send weekly mail outs (shameless plug:  sign up here)

March

  • Film a Closet Tour
  • Create a social media account for product launch

April

  • Film Spring Fashion Haul
  • Add studio lighting to my video set up
  • Launch product on Life with A.Co & YouTube

May

  • Focus on a weekly unique piece of content for email mail outs
  • Replace my broken (full size) tripod

… to be continued!

Sharing this with you girls makes me feel a little sick to my stomach, if I’m being honest.  I know I have some big shoes to fill and it’s up to me to make it happen.  I am hoping that sharing my scary goals will inspire you to join me on this journey, make a change or listen to your gut.  Take a scary step and put something that seems absolutely out of reach and impossible on your list (I know I am!) and let’s see if we can make 2018 one for the books!
