STYLING A SWIMSUIT FOR EVENING

The second I saw this lace-up one-piece, I knew I wanted it more as a bodysuit than to swim in.  The pretty blush colour, the square top neckline and of course the amazing lace up detail in the front totally won me over.

I shared this swimsuit in my recent swim haul on Instastories a few days ago, which I have since added to my highlight reel, so you can still see, if you’d like.  I went with an extra large because I’m on the taller side (5’11) and oftentimes bodysuits are a hard one for me–you never know if they will be long enough in the body.  I will say a large would have been a slightly better fit in the waist and bust area, but the extra large was perfect for the length of my torso.  I also removed the pads and used my own Lululemon ones–which were way more flattering.

O U T F I T  D E T A I L S  :  LACE UP SWIMSUIT/BODYSUIT  |  F21 BLUSH KIMONO — OLD (SIMILAR, LOVE THIS ONE)  |  ROSE GOLD SUNGLASSES  |  ZARA FLORAL PANTS — OLD (SIMILAR)  |  BLOCK HEELS (SIMILAR)

The straps on the suit are removable but since it’s a little roomy up top for me, there is no way I could wear it strapless.  Also, I’m not sure how opaque this suit would be if it got wet, so just something to be aware of.  The good news is they have restocked it in all sizes!  It’s already sold out twice before that.  Alternatively I’d wear this with high waist denim shorts for a beach-to-lunch look while on vacation or a cute skirt in the summertime.

Today is our last full day here in the Mayan Riviera, so we are soaking up as much beach time as we can.  We’ve made a few familiar face friends while here and the plan is to meet at 1pm for some beach volleyball.  We have been usually getting to the beach a little later, so today we are getting up early to make the most of the day.

Last night, they had this really cool Noche Mexicana (Mexican Night) in the courtyard–it was so fun!  They did a full spread taco bar, churros, a live Marriachi band, Mexican games, tequila tasting and more.  I shared a quick glimpse on IG Stories, which may still be there if you’re here early.  Afterwards, we hit up the Teppenyaki restaurant again for dinner at Marco’s request.  Since it was later, it was just us and another couple so we got to sit at the front of the grill–such a good time, and obviously ate far too much #vacationlife, right!?

Anyway, all that to say, I’m definitely bummed to be heading home tomorrow, but getting back to our everyday routine will at least ease some of my anxiety (more on that later).  Hope you’re having a great week–TGIF!!
