WEEKEND RECAP: IPHONE SNAPS

The busiest weekend since our wedding!  We had so much going on and it truly felt like the beginning of the holiday-festive-crazy.

Let’s jump in!

SHEER TOP (SIMILAR)  |  BLACK CAMI  |  WALMART EARRINGS (SIMILAR)  |  FAUX LEATHER SKIRT (LOVE THIS MORE)  |  SAM EDELMAN ‘KENT’ OTK BOOTS — OLD (SIMILAR)  |  BAG (BUDGET FRIENDLY)

On Friday night we had our friend’s birthday at The Albion Rooms, which was fantastic.  The food was so good and the Cornish hen and short rib were favourites among the table.

We stayed out late and celebrated, chatted and had some fantastic wine.  It was overall a really enjoyable evening with about 10 friends.

I wanted to mention about my outfit too–I’ve had these over the knee boots for over two years and while I love them and they are comfortable, they don’t stay up anymore (so frustrating).  However, that night I discovered a mini hack that I’ll be doing moving forward (since I don’t really want to purchase a new pair but also still want to wear these) which is to tighten them with the pulley thing as much as possible, then tie a double knot in the back.  It was a pain to get out, but it worked.  A friend of mine uses double-sided tape on the inside of hers, so that’s another idea if you’re also struggling.

OFF SHOULDER TOPOLD (SIMILAR IN BLACK)  |  ROSE GOLD CHOKER — MY WEDDING NECKLACE!  |  ZARA FAUX LEATHER SKIRT — OLD (SIMILAR, CURVY SIZE OPTION, BUDGET FRIENDLY IN BLACK)  |  NUDE FISHNETS

On Saturday, we met up with my parents for brunch and caught them up on our honeymoon adventures and theirs while we were away.  It’s so so so awesome getting together with friends and family post wedding to re-live it through their eyes.  It brings me so much happiness hearing others experiences and what they saw, enjoyed and remember.

That evening, we headed out for another friend’s birthday dinner at an Italian spot downtown.  OMG.  Best. Manicotti. Ever.  We were with newer friends and all their friends so I didn’t pull out my camera, but we had such a fantastic time, laughs, drinks and the birthday boy’s mom sent a tiramisu cake with his wife for dessert–unreal good!

On Sunday evening, I made a really simple soup vegetable-lentil with a few things I had on hand and we pulled out the Christmas decorations!  Marco got the tree up and fluffed the branches, then we decided decorating would be another night (feeling lazy!).

We ended up watching Mile 22 with Mark Whalberg–such a crazy, intense movie!  It was pretty good and I think we both enjoyed it, but it also felt like there will be a sequel so, there’s that.

Hope you girls had a nice weekend and I’ll be back with all the Black Friday goodness this week, our honeymoon photos & more!  Still waiting on those wedding photos but truuuuust me, you’ll be the first to see!
