Just popping on for a quick Sunday post to share some ideas on how to style Dr. Martens boots–specifically the platform version I just purchased (which are currently on sale!).
I am loving the chunky, lug sole trend we are seeing this year but I know it can be intimidating figuring out what to wear with them. If I’m ever iffy on a purchase, I always ask myself, ‘Can I imagine 5 outfits I could wear this with?’.
As such, today’s post is an informal and fun way to challenge myself (and you) to shop your closet to create that outfits that incorporate one of this season’s hottest boot trend.
Let’s jump in…
SIZING NOTES: The boots run large, so size down (I’m wearing a 39 in them, but am usually a 40 or size 10).
H&M TEE | ZARA JEANS | DR. MARTENS BOOTS
My favourite casual look of the five is this one–I am loving this straight leg jean style, feels way fresher than skinnies (although skinnies can still work), and just paired with a simple, boatneck tee, the look is easy to throw on and go, but also feels fashion forward and pulled together.
ALL SAINTS LEATHER JACKET (SIMILAR — ON SALE!) | SIMILAR SWEATER DRESS | DOTTED TIGHTS | DR. MARTENS BOOTS
Sweater dresses are always in style and a fun way to update them is with a chunky boot + sheer nylons (pattern optional). I threw on a leather jacket because we are in full cold weather over here, plus like the added texture.
JOIE SWEATER — OLD (SIMILAR)| H&M COATED DENIM (SIMILAR) | DR. MARTENS BOOTS
This look feels most classic and an easy way to dip your toe into the chunky sole boot trend. The knit sweater paired with the coated denim or leather pants is an easy way to ‘dress up’ your look, but also is kept casual with the boots.
ZARA SWEATER | H&M FRONT SLIT SKIRT | NYLONS | DR. MARTENS BOOTS
Definitely my favourite dressed up or edgy look of all of them–I’m living for front slit skirts right now and this one is sooo good, with the faux croc emboss. It’s high waist, so I paired it with a cropped sweater, some sheer nylons & the Docs.
NIKE SWEATSHIRT (SIMILAR) | ZARA JEANS | DR. MARTENS BOOTS
These jeans! Have you girls be seeing this 90’s jean trend popping up? It’s like a long, wide/straight/bootcut style with a high waist. I was curious to try so snagged these budget friendly ones and love. I paired with a cropped sweatshirt, but a few other ways I love would be with the black cropped sweater above, a boxy t-shirt or even a snug fitting turtleneck tucked in.
Hope you girls enjoyed this quick post on styling one outfit five ways. Hope you’re having a great weekend! xo
