HOW TO WEAR BLACK IN THE SPRING

So excited to break this jacket out–feels like I only got a couple wears out of it before we turned to winter in these parts so excited to incorporate this into my spring wardrobe.

As someone who loves neutrals, buying this plum suede number was a little outside of what I normally reach for, but since doing so, I haven’t looked back.  If I can suggest a great jacket for spring, let it be this suede moto style–it comes in eight different colours (I have the tan & also love the light grey!), fits true to size and makes a statement without being over the top.  I’ve worn my tan one so much already, but love that this one is a more bold piece.

Alright, let’s talk about the bag, the Gucci Marmont Mini Chain.  I knew I wanted a smaller, cross body bag next and Marco got me this for my birthday back in March.  Since this bag is quite small, I’ve ditched my wallet altogether, as the inside of the bag has a bunch of card slats and various pockets.  I love that I can grab it and sling it over my shoulder and rush out the door.  The interior though, like I said, is quite tight so it doesn’t fit a ton but it is a great lightweight, hands free option; I’ve been wearing it everyday!

Wearing black in the spring can sometimes feel a little heavy, but when you keep the pieces light, for example, the open toe shoes and lightweight cami, it keeps it season appropriate.  Plus, while the weather is still slowly warming up, it’s nice to have a layering piece to throw on (or remove) as needed.

Where would I wear this outfit?  Probably out to dinner with friends or on a date with Marco–knowing I could remove the jacket for a sexy vibe or keep it on for an edgy look.  I’m always a heels girl for nights out, but catch me on the weekend during the day, and I’m often in flats or sneakers.  That said, this outfit could easily accommodate a cute lace up flat or pair with the latest slide trend for a slightly comfier, errand-running look.
