Hey girls, how was your weekend? We held our housewarming party on Saturday night and it was wonderful, but more on that later in the post.
On Friday night, I came home to my Zara order which was really exciting. I’ve been trying to lay low on the shopping over here for months (agh!) with us buying our new home, but caved and bought some new pieces for work–which I’m totally stoked about. I did a full try-on haul on Instastories, and you’re if new to that, it’s essentially like Snapchat, on Instagram. Stories (ie. videos and photos uploaded) are only live for 24 hours, and then they disappear. If you want to see if someone is sharing real-time/live video, there will be a red ring around their Instagram profile pic. Click the profile pic and you can watch whatever they are sharing in 10 second intervals (or less).

I love this top and these pants! I’m so impressed with how long Zara’s wide legged pants are, and although I can’t find mine on their site anymore (I placed my order two weeks ago), if you search under their palazzo section, you’ll find so many options.
This top is quite cropped, so I’m thinking if not with high-waisted pants, it will be killer with a pencil skirt.

A little later we headed out for date night & hit up a spot called Crust ‘n Crate–they specialize in pizza. It was pretty good, but I don’t think we would go back. Afterwards we came home and crashed.
This off shoulder top is another one from the curvy section. I went with the smallest size (OT) and it’s a great fit, plus the sleeves are extra long, which I love. I especially love that the sleeves are separate, so you can move your arms around without being confined or lifting the bodice.

Saturday was the day of our housewarming party, so we were up cleaning and prepping the house. Later we went out to run some errands and stopped by Saks Off Fifth (my fave!), but unfortunately I didn’t have any luck. Everything I tried on actually looked terrible and didn’t fit well, so no snaps of that.
We had about 20 friends show up for the party, which ran late into the night. The island ended up being filled with goodies, everyone was generous and brought something to share, so the spread was awesome.
We laughed and danced and showed our friends around the house–it was a great evening. Looking forward to more nights like this, when we get some grass and eventually a deck on the back of the house for BBQ’s and more. We are really, really excited to be here.
Sunday was a recovering day and a cleaning day, ha.
My parents stopped by in the afternoon, which was wonderful. We had a nice visit and I gifted my Dad with the mug above–he’s totally a bad ass, Harley-riding Dad who always makes everyone in a room feel welcome. He’s always cracking jokes, sharing stories and including others so no one is left out.
And then I spent the rest of Sunday doing laundry, meal prepping for the week and relaxing on the computer.
