Happy Friday!  Today’s look is all about easy, cool girl, weekend-ready style.  Something you can wear for running errands and still look and feel pulled together.

I’ve been grabbing this baker boy hat more and more lately, and know I’m going to be wearing it a ton this spring (last seen here, more dressed up).  It’s the perfect accessory to throw on for bad hair days or just when you want to add a little something extra to your outfit–I swear every time I wear it people do a double take.  I think it’s still a relatively new, trendy piece that instantly makes you look stylish, and thus the looks.

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a wonderful day.  I’ve always loved birthdays, but as I’ve gotten older, I care less and less about it being the most perfect day and really appreciate the little things like cards and calls from loved ones.  However, boy was my day special yesterday.  I arrived to work to fully decorated office–banners, streamers, balloons and more.  My Poppa called me, there were countless Facebook messages and texts, my parents called and sang to me over the phone, my best friend sent me flowers and we also went to lunch at our fave spot.  On top of all that, Marco returned home from a business trip & we spent the night together (although we were both pretty tired and opted for a super simple dinner instead of going out).

This weekend, Marco has planned a big party to celebrate my birthday and I kind of couldn’t be more excited!  I’m still searching for the perfect birthday outfit but planning to hit up the mall tonight before dinner with my bestie.  If you saw my IG Stories the other night, I shared a little rant on the difficulties of shopping at times.  I never have a problem finding things in stores and online, but the fit and quality are what I’m have the hardest time with.  I especially find this at Zara, I love practically everything in that store, but when I take a boat load of clothing into the fitting room, I almost always leave empty handed.  The fit is always so off for me.

Additionally, I find I’m way more selective now with what I will buy.  I want to really love it and know I’ll make use of it if I’m going to spend my money on it.  Which means if I do buy something, you can be pretty sure I (1) thought long and hard about it (I’m super indecisive), and (2) am going to wear it a ton.  I used to purchase quantity, quantity, quantity, but now I find myself really veering towards quality for those closet staples like denim, shoes and bags (ahem, this outfit).

Anyway!  I’m rambling on, but that’s just how I’ve been feeling lately, so hopefully tonight I’ll have some luck because doesn’t it feel great to wear something new for a special night?
