Hello hello, how are you doing?! Apologies for the slight delay, you girls know I like to get these Weekend Recap posts up on Monday mornings (I envision you reading with a cup of coffee and taking a quick break or scrolling to wake up–I mean, that’s what I like to do, haha!) but was so exhausted on Sunday night, I just wasn’t up for putting the post together.
All that to say, we’re here now, so let’s jump in!
On Friday night, I went down to Nordstrom and Rideau Centre in search of a birthday top and/or outfit. I figured I’d give it one more shot, plus I always find tons of items at Nordstrom, it’s usually a matter of what I don’t need, lol. In turn, I had zero luck! Ugh. I actually tried on on this dress in red and loved it, but 3 times the points are starting this Thursday, so I figured if I’m going to get it, I’ll wait till later this week (plus it wasn’t the look I was hoping as a birthday outfit).
I did, however, have luck at the Nespresso store! I had never been in the Ottawa location before and we are running low on our pods. It was the perfect shopping break, they made me a cappuccino and I sat o a bench outside the store and took a mini break before stocking up on a few boxes of pods–including decaf, which we haven’t had before, and I’m so excited for. I’m such a caffeine lightweight that I can’t drink it post 2pm or I’ll be up all night, but I love the idea of a coffee in the evening sometimes. I just wish there was a Nespresso store a little closer to our neck of the woods!

Afterwards, I was treated to dinner by my bestie for my birthday. We tried out a new-to-us spot called, Carben, and it didn’t disappoint! The food and cocktails were phenomenal, and we left feeling happy and full.
Sidenote, the Dulsão is the pod I tried at the Nespresso store, and they are actually discontinuing it soon. Apparently due to Global Warming, the beans will no longer be able to be produced, which is quite sad from an environmental stand point.
On Saturday, Marco and I hit the gym in the late morning–but I don’t think I snapped any pic of that (plus, pancakes, of course). From there, we headed home and started getting ready for my birthday party that evening. I packed my overnight bag, grabbed a few serving dishes and other essentials, and we were off to the Andaz hotel downtown.
Also: birthday prezzie below–eek! I have been using my iPhone 7 for a couple years now, but Marco surprised me with the iPhone 8 Plus. Just ordered this case and set it all up tonight.

Marco planned a killer birthday party for me, and we had 25 of our friends join us for a party in the suite and then out to dance later in the evening. It was possibly my best birthday ever and I’ll be sharing a full recap of all the birthday festivities in a post later this week (with a major photo overload–I’m saving so many photos for that post).
I ended up wearing two pieces I already had, but that had only been worn once each, so still very new (remember the skirt from this edgy look?). I’m still crazy about this bodysuit and would love to get it in black if they restock the large.
The next morning, we hung out, tidied up the hotel and checked out in the late afternoon. The rest of the day was spent relaxing (ahem: recovering!), vacuuming & a little tidying, and more relaxing.
Hope you girls had a great weekend! xo
