WEEKEND RECAP: IPHONE SNAPS

Hello hello & Happy Easter Monday!  Were you able to spend some time with family/friends and feast a little too?  We definitely got our fair share of good food and visiting, so let’s jump in.

On Thursday evening, since Friday was a holiday here in Canada, I went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday.  It was a casual party at a really fun coffee house/lounge, Origin Trade.

On Friday morning, I hit the gym and then was off to meet up with my girl friend to get in a 5km walk.  We ended up on the Starbucks patio with a snack and despite it still being chilly, it was amazing sitting outside in the sunshine bundled up.  C’mon spring!

Also, so amazing to be wearing my spring sneakers out and about versus boots to the gym (yah!).

On Friday night, I made dinner for us (a Hello Fresh meal)–which turned out really well.  We spent the evening relaxing and then watched the new Jumanji movie–so good!

On Saturday morning, we hit the gym and then home to pack up and hit the road to head out to see Marco’s family for Easter.

Marco’s mom did a full Filipino Easter dinner and Marco did a roast when we arrived.  Delish!

The next morning, we headed over to his brother & sister-in-law’s place for an amazing Easter breakfast.

Sunday comfy style.

We got home in the early afternoon and had no plans for the rest of the day.  We decided to throw a turkey in the oven and put together a full on Easter dinner for just the two of us!

We had a frozen, stuffed turkey in our freezer, carrots in the fridge, corn, cranberries and gravy in the cupboard, we just need the potatoes.  So, despite everything being close for the holiday, Shoppers Drugmart was open so we ran there and grabbed a bag of potatoes to make up the feast.

It turned out to be such a fantastic meal–it’s actually my fave meal of all time, so it wasn’t hard to convince me we should do this!  We even had pie left overs from the night before, but were far too stuffed to eat dessert in the end.  Can’t wait for leftovers today!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
