I’ll be honest, it feels a little weird naming this a ‘clubbing outfit’, but that’s exactly what I did in this outfit and it fit the bill perfectly. Plus I know you girls like me to sprinkle in more dressed up looks to shake things up.
A couple weekends ago, Marco threw me an epic birthday party that included dancing the night away at Kavali–a killer spot here in Ottawa–until the lights came on. He organized guest list for us and bottle service so there was an awesome booth to sit in, but I don’t think I ever sat down until the end of the night when I may or may not have had a few too many vodka crans 😉

I know I already shared what I wore in a few snaps on my birthday weekend recap post and the weekend recap, but wanted to do a full post dedicated to going out outfits. We went out dancing about a month prior to this for a friend’s birthday, and I wore dark denim skinnies & this off shoulder top which wasn’t the best choice because the top kept creeping up every time I lifted my arms. Solution? Enter this bodysuit! It was perfect, looked great and stayed put all night long.
If you haven’t been to the club in a while, and are wondering what to wear that isn’t a short, tight dress, I would definitely opt for something you can move in but consider showing a little more skin than usual. (1) You’ll be dancing up a storm and it gets sweaty, and (2) it’s fun to dress up and pull out the things you wouldn’t normally wear, say, around the house or to work.
One of our friends wore a black, low-cut jumpsuit with a chiffon kimono over top, which was just gorgeous. Another girlfriend wore high-waisted stretchy culottes with a matching tube top–love a good two-piece set!–showing only a sliver of her midriff; it was current, sexy and stylish. If you’re looking for more coverage, I also love this set that makes a statement without showing too much skin. And if that still feels like too much, one of my besties wore our fave leather leggings and a chic logo tee with heels.
