Alright ladies, today’s post is all about a few pieces I already have in my closet that are part of the Nordstrom sale. These are pieces that I actually reach for over and over again, and are great basics to add to any wardrobe.
First up, these medium-wash raw-hem skinny jeans. I purchased them last year during the sale (see all last year’s sale posts here) and they were my first pair of AG jeans, and I love them. I have worn them so much in the last year, they are easily in my top 5 fave pairs of denim. They run a tad roomy, so I went down one size and have always done that when trying any other pairs from the brand, which works well (wearing a 29 but am normally a 30). They are a great jean to wear to the office on Casual Friday or on the weekend when a distressed pair isn’t going to cut it. They are stretchy, mid-rise and very comfortable. I do find the back pockets to be a tad on the small side, with all their jeans, so if that’s a thing for you, it should be noted.

A lace cami is one of those things that every wardrobe needs. I’m so glad Nordstrom brought this one back for the sale.
When I purchased mine last year, I initially just took it into the fitting room to try on with various items to make true outfits, but ended up loving it! Now, I don’t know about you, but I have five white camis in my wardrobe and three black ones–all slightly different, serving slightly different purposes. I appreciate this one because the v isn’t too deep in the front, the straps are adjustable and it has a slight crinkle to the satin (read: if it isn’t steamed, you might not notice).
It’s kind of laughable, but I brought the black one in this time around to try on with everything, simply to use as a piece to pair with items, nothing more, and I ended up buying it! Again, it’s just a great basic, well priced and goes with everything–under sweaters, cardigans, on it’s own, with a jacket, etc.
Alright, these thick, cotton leggings are quite comfortable and the price really can’t be beat for the quality. I have talked about these leggings before and that I do prefer Lululemon to workout in (just being honest!), however, these are a great staple if you don’t want to spend that much and/or are looking for a pair of leggings to wear outside of the gym.
I get way more use out of these for everyday life, pairing them with longer tops and sweaters with tall boots, more than anything else. The logo is at the top of the waistband, so it’s hidden when worn as pants, and they are very comfortable for long periods of time.
FREE PEOPLE OVERSIZED KNIT CARDIGAN
I am so excited to see that this crochet sweater is part of the sale; it comes in three colours: burgundy, ivory and black.
I purchased mine last winter and went with the medium/large, simply because it was all that was left on the site. That said, I would totally size down in this because it’s quite oversized. It’s one of the first sweaters I grab when we are going to watch a movie on the couch, and when paired with something more fitted underneath for day or night, it still keeps your shape while adding a little style.
If I was to purchase again, I would go for the black because it would be so good with leather leggings and denim in the winter when you want something cozy, but also want to look pulled together.
Okay, this exact top isn’t part of the sale, but it’s almost identical sister is. The basis is the same, swing style top, hi-low hem and fitted sleeves.
Free People tops are hard to beat and I was hoping to get this newer style but my Nordstrom location didn’t carry it. I absolutely love the light olive green and the white. You girls know I wear my Free People waffle knit/thermal long sleeve tops all. the. time. and when I purchased the one above, it became part of the rotation.
Per usual, size down with Free People, the brand runs big. I’m wearing a small.
RAG & BONE DARK DENIM SKINNY JEANS
These Rag & Bone skinnies have been my #1 go-to over the past two years, and have been such a fantastic investment to my wardrobe because I easily got my money’s worth in just the first year!
While mine are slightly different from the pair in this year’s sale, if you were to let down the hem, they would be pretty much identical. Mine have faded a little with lots of wear, but the fit, style and fabric are all the same.
These are the perfect jeans for a look where you want to dress up your denim: with a blazer or fancy sweater, even a sequin top during the holidays. The dark denim is great for that, but the way these feel on is the real kicker. They are so comfortable and stretchy, but also seem to smooth everything out as well. I find Rag & Bone jeans fit true to size, so I always take a 30.
I hope you girls enjoyed this post and it was helpful. I was sad to see that Nordstrom isn’t restocking a lot of items, which means if they’re sold out, the only chance we have now is if something is returned. That said, people do tend to return during the sale, and the site does get adjusted quickly, so if there is something you’re eyeing, keep checking back just in case. I’m still holding out hope for these Vince mules (wah!).
See you tomorrow! xo
