Good morning & happy Tuesday! We had a long weekend here in Canada and I took full advantage by putting my phone down (mostly) and just living in real life. Sometimes that’s just needed with social media, isn’t it?
Anyway, the weekend was pretty low key, despite it being Canada Day so let’s jump into the snaps…
On Friday night, my girl friend threw a girls’ Mexican-food-themed party at her place. A summer kick off, if you will. She did amazing pulled chicken and spicy grilled shrimp tacos, and everyone pitched in and brought something–bean salad, guac, spanakopita, strawberry shortcake, Pina coladas 😉 and more. The spread was awesome!

We sat out in her awesome backyard and ate, drank and chatted the night away till dark.
Not to mention, Friday was the last day at my current job before I start my new role on July 9th, so laughs and good company were definitely appreciated after a bit of an emotional week of goodbyes.

On Saturday, we were lucky to be invited to see Cirque du Soleil! I absolutely love going to these shows, and if you’ve been, you totally get why. The shows are pure talent but also a complete sensory overload, and highly entertaining. I’ve never seen a show where I haven’t left in complete awe–I would highly, highly recommend if they ever come to your town or if you’re ever in Vegas.
Afterwards, it was about dinner time, but we had eaten at the show and weren’t too hungry. We ended up heading home and just hanging out for the night. We watched Oceans 13 and just relaxed.

On Sunday I hit the gym with Marco and then we grabbed a late lunch (not pictured). It was Canada Day but it was 43C, so definitely not the day you want to be outside (unless you had a pool). We ended up just hanging out at home and taking it easy.
Later in the evening we did some gardening and work in the yard before Marco made us a killer spaghetti and meatball dinner while we watched Oceans 12. It was a totally chill day and night, but good.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
I’ll be back tomorrow rounding up the best of the best Fourth of July sales (woohoo!!!) and if I don’t see you before then, hope you all have an amazing holiday!
