Hello! I missed last week’s Try-On Tuesday because we were in St. Lucia and while we are currently in Vancouver, I didn’t want to miss another one. I did a little run to the mall in between trips and actually ended up being pretty successful!
Today’s try-on is all about Spring vibes! I’m so ready for warmer weather, open toes & bare legs again (aren’t we all!), and couldn’t help but gravitate towards some fun new pieces.
Per usual, all these pieces are linked below each photo and also on my SHOP INSTAGRAM page on the blog, and my LiketoKnow.it profile (here is an easy tutorial on how to use it). I’m also sharing everything via video on IG Stories today, so head over there is you’d like to see how the pieces move and additional styling notes.
CROPPED KNIT SWEATER | BUTTON THROUGH WHITE DENIM SKIRT (ALSO IN BLUE DENIM) | SNAKE PRINT HEEL
You guys, I purchased a sweater in a colour versus the neutral option–haha! But seriously, spring must be in the air because I’m feeling a little colour in my life and this coral, cropped sweater is giving me all the heart eyes.
I brought this into the fitting room in both the cream and this colour, liked both but told myself I could only get one. Colour prevailed!
While I absolutely love the look of a crop top, they aren’t necessarily the most flattering on me and I would never wear them with a low rise pant. That said, when I have a high waisted skirt or denim (covering the belly button), it makes all the difference! Additionally, I would pair a chiffon cami underneath for more coverage with a pair of jeans.
This is definitely an oversized, boxy fit, but I love how it goes up in the front of the sweater on the hem. The sleeves are actually super long (which is amazing for us tall girls) and I envision this with the skirt, as seen here, but also high rise denim and black skinnies. I’m wearing a size large but could have done a medium too.
The skirt is a true (stiff) denim and I love the button through detail. This hits just above the knee and is perfect for a business casual office environment but also great on weekends too (with sneakers or slides!). The belt is removable and the skirt is high waisted (covers my belly button–score). I’m wearing a size large.

CROPPED RIBBED SWEATER (ALSO IN BLACK & WHITE) | BUTTON THROUGH WHITE DENIM SKIRT(ALSO IN BLUE DENIM) | SPLENDID WEDGES (ALMOST IDENTICAL, LOVE THESE)
Another cropped sweater, but in a beautiful boatneck with a medium rib to it. This one comes in black and white as well, and while nude doesn’t usually look great on me (being so fair), with a good self-tan, I really liked the way it! Plus, I don’t have a sweater like this, in this colour.
I wore this sweater the day after purchasing it (with this snake print skirt and heels to work), which is definitely an indication of how much you like something, isn’t it?
I’m wearing a size small, but thought I had grabbed a medium so that was a total accident. I tried the black in a medium and it fit great, but this small was also great so I just went with it.

I wanted to talk about my new necklace that I picked up in St. Lucia last week. There wasn’t a ton of shopping where we were, but there were two boutiques that had beautiful stuff. One was Heidi Klein, which I’d never heard of before (cue instant Googling and discovering the most gorgeous resort wear), and I fell in love with their small selection of necklaces. The store was mostly clothes, swimwear, shoes and beach bags, but they had a small table of gold-plated jewelry.
Since our wedding, I’ve been limiting my costume jewelry and looking/saving for gold-plated jewelry for necklaces, rings and bracelets instead (you can see my wedding jewelry here). I used to spend a ton of money on costume jewelry and it would just turn colour so quickly, in turn making it not really wearable. Over the years, I’ve really streamlined and simplified the jewelry I wear, often opting for the same pieces day after day. Which means it’s nice if they can stand the test of time.
You girls know I wear this pendant necklace almost daily, and it was a gift from a good friend for my 30th birthday. Well, five years later and it’s still holding strong, however, when I saw the Heidi Klein one, I fell in love and purchased it–and haven’t taken it off since! I will still wear my other one, but it’s nice to have something new that I know will last me for many years to come.
Sidenote: I can’t find my exact one online, but my Protect charm is the same on this one. Mine came with an olive green tassel, which I’ve removed because I just like the look better with all metal for now.
CROPPED RIBBED SWEATER (ALSO IN BLACK & WHITE) | PAPER BAG SKIRT | NUDE PATENT PUMPS
Another way to wear this sweater, even more dressed up, perfect for the office. I’m seriously contemplating going back for the black and white–it’s so good and under $25!

RIBBED CROPPED HALTER SPORTS BRA
I saw this sports bra and wasn’t sure I could pull it off, but I love the look of these types of tops with a high waisted legging in general. This one is ribbed and comes in white and a peachy-nude colour and it’s so comfortable!
There is minimal support in this, it would definitely be for low impact only (think lifting, yoga, pilates or just hanging out), the straps are adjustable, and I’m wearing a size large.
I’m not sure I’m brave enough to wear this to the gym just yet, but love how it feels on so I just went for it! I also think it could be really cute with a high waisted skirt and a denim jacket for summer where my midriff isn’t exposed. I’m wearing a size large.

I know this isn’t the most helpful thing to share, but I picked up this perfume at the Duty Free on our way to St. Lucia and absolutely love it!
I wanted to find a new fragrance (have been wearing the one from our wedding all winter) for our trip to create a nostalgic memory every time I wear it thereafter, and you know how sometimes you’ll like a perfume in store but when you get home it was a mistake? Not this one for me!
We were somewhat rushed at the Duty Free, and typically if I’m looking for a new perfume, I’ll spray it on me and go shop/home and smell it for the rest of the day before I go back the next day to get it. Didn’t have the opportunity with this one since we were at the airport, so I wandered around for as long as I could and was still loving it so I went for it. I’ve been wearing it daily every since (c’mon Spring 😉 ).
It’s light, floral and fresh and is definitely going to be my scent for spring/summer.
PINK CROPPED DENIM JACKET | F21 POLKA DOT DRESS — CAN’T FIND ONLINE YET, BUT BRAND NEW (ALMOST IDENTICAL, STRIPED VERSION) | SHELL NECKLACE | SNEAKERS
This outfit is giving me all the 90’s/Kelly Kapowski vibes!
The jacket–ahhh, so obsessed! I circled this jacket twice in the store before picking it up to try on. I was hesitant because it’s so pink and not a neutral and you know me… but something about it was just calling me so hard. I tried it on in a large which was quite oversized (similar to how the model looks online), so tried the medium and it was perfect.
Cropped denim jackets are so huge for Spring 2019 and I love the punch of colour this packs! It’s almost like a really pigmented, muted neon. I can’t wait to pair this with dark denim skinnies and a tee, with a summery romper, white jeans, and more!
This jacket also comes with a removable (via buttons in the collar) sweatshirt hood. I’ll likely wear it more without it, but the option is nice.
F21 POLKA DOT DRESS — CAN’T FIND ONLINE YET, BUT BRAND NEW (ALMOST IDENTICAL, STRIPED VERSION) | SHELL NECKLACE | SNEAKERS
I’m not usually a tight dress kind of girl, but the fabric was so nice on this one I figured I’d just try it on and sold! The straps are adjustable and the fabric is a thick, stretch cotton that is even hiding the black undies I’m wearing. It’s comfortable and easy to move in, but also smoothes you out, if you know what I mean 😉 Plus, polka dots are another big trend for this summer so I figured for $21 (yes, this dress is $21!) I should go for it.
Also, I touched on this today on Instastories about pairing sneakers with everything–another big trend for this year. When I was out shopping, I was wearing sneakers and I think that just sealed the deal–something about a dress with a pair of kicks that speaks to me, plus comfort for the win. You could totally pair this dress with heels and head out on the town, or even thrown a kimono over it for a softer look, but my preference is casual just like you see here.

SEE ALL TRY-ON TUESDAY POSTS
One last thing, most of the pieces I shared today are from the same store and that retailer automatically diverts to your country once you click the link. This means, if you’re a Canadian and click the American link, it will just take you to the home page versus the product page (annoying).
Since we are about a 50/50 split here, I’m creating two widgets below to make it easier to shop and find the items I’m wearing in today’s post, depending on your country. If you’re from another country (I see you 3%!), I’m including the style number below each blurb so you can search that way if needed <3
