TRY-ON TUESDAY | ONE PAIR OF JEANS, FIVE WAYS

Hello hello! Today’s try-on session is a little different as I don’t have a ton of items to share, but I do have one new purchase that will hopefully help you if you’re looking to jump on this trend.

I purchased these high-rise, straight leg jeans last week after lusting after them for a couple months and when they arrived, I was a touch uncertain if they were for me. The silhouette is different from anything I own, the legs are a littler looser than I’m used to and the opening around the ankle is wider than a usual straight leg, but not so wide it’s a flare. I figured the best way to find out, is to put them to the test, and style them five different ways to see if they truly fit into my everyday wardrobe.

A couple things to note: I’m 5’11, wearing my true size in the jeans (30), they have 13 inch rise (which hits just at the top of my bellybutton) and come with a removable fabric belt.  The denim itself is thick with a bit of stretch but extremely comfortable.

As always, everything I’m sharing is linked below each picture, on the SHOP INSTAGRAM page on my blog, my LiketoKnow.it profile (the app is free & I did a whole post on how to use it) & I’m showing you everything on IG Stories today too.

H&M OFF SHOULDER TOP — OLD (SIMILAR, SIMILAR) | DENIM | HEELS

This look is instantly how I imagine wearing these jeans–with a flirty, feminine top to balance out the volume on bottom, plus white is always a winner in my books, especially with a lighter wash denim.

I love this look for spring and summer and would wear this to head out on a date with my husband or brunch with a girlfriend. Easy, simple, done.

SWEATER | SIMILAR CAMI | DENIM | HEELS

This next look was a no brainer–this blush pink colour and the denim is so pretty together! Plus, we still have snow on the ground so I’m still in a sweater state of mind. That said, paired with some block heels, this is the perfect spring transition outfit.

CROPPED SWEATER | DENIM | WHITE BOOTIES (LOVE THESE)

I’ve seen these types of jeans paired with booties and I love the look, but hadn’t tried it myself. Personally I’m a big fan of booties with skinnies, but this feels super fresh and fashion forward. I went with white booties since I haven’t had a ton of opportunities to wear these–other than inside, at the office–and am excited to break them out for spring!

I also kept the belt on for this look but tied it into a pretty bow–it adds a little something extra to the look and I love the option that I can remove it if I wanted. The belt would also be super cute used on a white denim skirt!

CROPPED LEATHER JACKET — OLD (SIMILAR, BUDGET FRIENDLY) | SIMILAR TEE | DENIM | FUR MULES

As mentioned on Stories, this look took a little more effort to be comfortable with. At first, I felt like the jeans were swallowing me up a little when paired with flats–but I really love wearing flats, especially on the weekends when I’m out shopping or running errands.

That said, when I threw the cropped leather jacket on top, that really sold it for me–it seemed to balance out the proportions a little better, giving my upper body a bit more shape. I could totally see myself throwing this on to go grab ramen in the future.

CLUB MONACO SWEATSHIRT | DENIM | SNEAKERS (BUDGET FRIENDLY)

And finally, totally dressed down with sneakers and a sweatshirt!

I removed the belt for this look and love these jeans without it. I did a front half tuck with the sweatshirt and grabbed a pair of my favourite sneakers. I initially tried them with a mid-high top sneaker, which felt very fashiony, but I felt more comfortable with baring more ankle 😉

By the end of this try-on on Stories, I was no longer questioning wearing these jeans with flat shoes! I absolutely love this look and can’t wait to rock it as the weather warms up to head to the mall or for a casual lunch date.

Head over to my IG Stories today to vote on the jeans–whether you think I should keep ’em or not!
