TRY-ON TUESDAY

Today’s post is all about really simple, basic dresses that can be dressed up or down for this summer and into the fall. I stopped into the mall the other day and clearly fell in love with this style because I scooped up several in different styles and patterns.

All of the dresses I’m sharing today are super budget friendly and also come in other colours, so I’ll link the options in the widget at the bottom of the post so you can pick whatever suits you best.

Lastly, since the retailer has many different sites depending on your country, it will automatically re-direct when you click a link. I’m including American and Canadian versions, but also the style number for each item in case you’re elsewhere and it just brings you to the home page.

Let’s jump in!

DIY CROPPED JACKET (SIMILAR) | STEVE MADDEN HEELS (LIKE THESE MORE)

Love this dress! I was kind of torn on which colour to get–all three colours (navy, green and pink) are really great, but ultimately I think navy is the most flattering on me.

The fabric is the best part of this dress (and all the dresses in today’s post) as it’s thick and stretchy. If this dress was white, it wouldn’t be see-through and it sucks you in and feels really secure. I’m wearing a size medium and find the dress fits true to adult sizing, but big in comparison to what F21 usually sells 😉 I’m often reaching for a large or extra large there, so this is refreshing.

WHITE WEGES

I wore this dress to work last week with white booties and this cardigan and felt so good–it felt like spring, but since it’s still cool some days, the booties felt seasonally appropriate. In the summer, I’ll wear this with wedges or slides, depending on the occasion.

I found this style fit a little more snug than the tank style, so I went with a size large and feel really comfortable.

Another thing I absolutely love about these dresses is the hemline! They fall under the ‘midi’ category on the website, and on me (5’11) it hits at my knee, making it perfect for work or just when you want to be a little more covered up.

I’m wearing a size large in this dress and fit there’s a teeny bit of extra room in the waist, but the medium just felt too snug.

USA: WHITE/RUST STRIPED DRESS — CANNOT FIND ONLINE (THIS ONE IS CUTE TOO)

HAT | CARDIGAN | ESPADRILLES SLIDES

This might be my favourite look of them all–I love this cardigan so much and got it when I picked up the dresses because (1) it’s budget friendly, and (2) works amazing over all of them! Plus great with other items in any closet (denim, skirts, swimsuits, etc.).

I especially love pairing a snugger fitting piece with something flowy, I find it brings a lot of balance to the look and makes it more fashion versus just tight and sexy. With the slides and hat, you’re ready for a warm summer day or even vacation, but throw on some booties and you’re festival-ready.

I’m wearing a size medium in the dress and a large in the cardigan.

DENIM JACKET | SNEAKERS

This is the same dress as the baby blue but in white. I couldn’t decide which one I loved more and since they are both under $18, I decided to get both!

I also love that these dresses look great ruched a little bit too, so if you want to camoflauge your mid-section a little more, you can and the material really lends to that.

Per usual, I’m sharing all these looks plus additional sizing details and fit on IG Stories today (which I always save to my highlights) & you can find all previous Try-On Tuesday posts here.
