TRY-ON TUESDAY

Good morning & happy Tuesday!  I’m really excited to be back with a Try-On Tuesday—it’s been a while and getting back into the swing of things isn’t the easiest, but we are motoring along!

Like all other Try-On Tuesday posts, I’m sharing everything I’m showing you today on Instastories so you can see the fit, how it moves and hear more details on sizing, how to wear, etc.  I’m linking everything you see below each image and in the widget below, plus if you’re a LiketoKnow.it fan, you can find everything linked in the app on my page here.

One thing to note, there are a several pieces from Zara that I’m sharing today and I cannot link Zara through LiketoKnow.it, so you need to use the direct link from this post if you’re looking for a specific item

Let’s jump in!

F21 OFF SHOULDER TOP — OLD (SIMILAR, SIMILAR) | STRIPED SHORTS (ALSO GOT THEM IN BLACK) | SHOES (SIMILAR, SIMILAR) | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

These shorts!  I was looking for a couple pairs of shorts for summer that were different from my usual denim and also something that was comfortable and could be dressed up or down.  Was so excited to find these in this stripe and also snagged the black pair (currently BOGO 50% off!).  I’ve already worn both pairs multiple times—they are so comfortable!

The espadrilles are new as well and I’ve worn them with shorts and a dress thus far. They are comfortable and have some weight to them. I love that the sole is a little bit of a flatform. The ivory part is fabric and the cap toe is a faux leather.

I went with my usual size 11 on the website, but when they arrived the shoes said 42. Normally a 42 is too big for me, but these seem to fit just right so size up.

EBBBY & I DRESS — CAN’T SEEM TO FIND ONLINE (SIMILAR, SIMLAR, SIMILAR) | HEELS | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

This dress was a Winners score (sorry!!) and I’ve searched the Internet high and low an cannot find it.  That said, I wanted to share it still because aside from the dress itself, this style/neckline/sleeve is a very big trend for summer—the puff sleeve and square neckline is so pretty, plus most sleeves like this are elastic and can also be worn off the shoulder to switch up the look.

I’m usually pretty neutral in my wardrobe but I couldn’t pass up this summery print.  I’ve linked a few similar options with fun prints above plus below in the widget at the end of the post.

DRESS | HEELS | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

This dress is such a fun print but it was the silhouette I was really drawn to.  I was looking for something I could wear to work (read: long enough for my 5’11 frame) that wasn’t form fitting.  This totally hit the mark and I’m wearing a size medium which is a great fit.

The sleeves are a little on the short side for me, so I just pushed them up a bit, which I prefer over a long sleeve anyway.  Lastly, the back is a little longer just to offer a littler more coverage which is great.

TOP | DIY DENIM SHORTS — OLD (SIMILAR) | PILYQ SANDALS (SIMILAR) | HEELSSEEN ON INSTAGRAM STORIES TODAY | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

This top is part of the Zara sale that’s currently happening and I scooped it up as soon as I saw it.  I love that it’s a looser fit peplum and the floral print is so fun for summer.

I paired this with denim shorts for this try-on but have worn it to work with a dark denim skirt and a black midi ribbed skirt as well.  I went with a size large which is quite roomy in the body (probably could have done a medium) but the shoulders and sleeves fit nicely.

TEE | ZARA DRESS — SOLD OUT (ALMOST IDENTICAL, ALMOST IDENTICAL, SIMILAR, SIMILAR) | SNEAKERSON SALE! | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

I’m loving the slip dress trend, and have worn this one multiple times since getting it.  They are so versatile whether paired with a sweater, a leather jacket, a boxy tee on top like I did here, or simply on it’s own.

I shared on my Stories today that this dress/outfit was the inspo for this outfit–I had planned to purchase after seeing on a couple other Bloggers (clearly influenced 😉 ) but it sold out immediately and never came back in stock. I went on a hunt for pieces to recreate the look and Zara came through.

The tee is just folded up and loosely knotted in the back in some of these photos.  I initially purchased the tee with the intent to cut it to a cropped length but am still torn on whether to do so.  I love the tee on it’s own and think it would be great for pairing with shorts or denim, so am reluctant to cut it.  Will let you know what I end up deciding to do! 😛

I’m wearing a large in the tee and a medium in the dress.

TEE | ZARA DRESS — SOLD OUT (ALMOST IDENTICAL, SIMILAR, SIMILAR) | SNEAKERSON SALE! | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

And another take on the dress but in white.  I love how chic this looks with sneakers—comfort and style in one, but of course you could dress this up easily with a simple heel.

DRESS | IRO HEELS — OLD (SIMILAR) | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

I’m feeling the snake print and was excited to order this dress to wear to work.  I so badly wanted to love this dress but unfortunately it’s too short on me (despite it not looking super short in photos).  Additionally, the length is the same all the way around, so the back seems even shorter and really not office appropriate for me.  I may keep it for weekends though, looks super cute with flats, heels and booties. If you’re 5’8 and under, I think this dress would be great for you.

I will note that this dress has a separate slip underneath that you can remove to wear with other items as the fabric of the dress is quite sheer.

For sizing, I went with a 10 (I’m usually between and 8 and 10 at this store) but it’s quite oversized.  I think the 8 would have been just fine, but I was also worried about the length so thought going with a bigger size might help.

BOOTS (ALMOST IDENTICAL)

Love these Zara boots (almost sold out) and found an almost identical pair that I’m linking above!

Will be so good to pair with black skinnies or denim come fall–the muted snake print is what really drew me to them.

DRESS | SPLENDID WEDGES — OLD (SIMILAR) | SHELL ANKLET

This is the same cut as the snake print dress above and again was hoping to have this for work, but again it’s too short.  I’m not crazy about the print/colour combo on me, but if you’re more olive it would probably look awesome.

Again size down as I’m wearing a 10 and should have gone with the 8, it’s very roomy.

DENIM JACKET | WHITE COVER-UP (BUDGET FRIENDLY) | FLIP FLOPS | NECKLACE | SHELL ANKLET

In love with this new white cover up!  This piece is flowy and forgiving, lined and has functioning buttons that go all the way down the front.  There are side slits and adjustable straps, I’m wearing a medium which was a perfect fit, so I would say it’s true to size (tts).  This is not the most budget friendly piece, but if you’re looking for a beautiful cover up/dress that you will wear for years to come during the summer and on vacation, this is it.

I also paired it with a denim jacket to see it more as a dress—if you’re on the tall side, the slits may be too high to wear as a dress, but petite to average height girls will definitely be able to pull double duty with this one.

BIKINI TOP | BIKINI BOTTOM (HIGH WAISTED VERSION; AS SEEN ON ME HERE)

Lastly, a new bikini bottom!

Do you girls remember this bikini I shared in a Try-On Tuesday a little while back?  I had originally purchased it with the high-rise bottoms (which I still love) and wanted to snag the low-rise bottoms too.  Since the fabric is a special pattern and the colour is cream (versus white), I knew I’d be kicking myself next year if I didn’t grab this now before it sells out (hard to find cream bottoms to match my current top). I actually wore this for Canada Day yesterday with a red bikini top and the white cover-up above.

For l*space I take a large in both pieces.
