OUR LONG WEEKEND IN NYC

A few months ago, we took a little trip to New York City for an extended weekend getaway. I’d love to share some photos if you’d like to see…

First stop: ramen at Ippudo.

That night, we went to dinner at Hudson Clearwater; a spot we celebrated our second anniversary (dating) so many moons ago.

This restaurant is off the beaten path and absolutely incredible. We made reservations a few weeks in advance and it was packed when we arrived. Our experience was just as amazing as the first time and so nostalgic to go back, but this time married and expecting a baby.

The next day was rainy, but we decided to venture out and just wander. We hit up 5th Avenue and popped in and out of shops, avoiding the rain.

There was no agenda for the entire trip, and since I was almost seven months pregnant, that was exactly how it had to be. We spent a lot of time in the hotel room so I could re-charge my batteries, and then when I felt up to it, we would explore (with plenty of Uber and taxi rides over walking).

By fluke, our friends had planned a trip to NYC the same weekend so we decided to meet up one night for dinner at a chic Korean BBQ spot. Afterwards, we all went back to their hotel for drinks in the lounge.

The next day, while Marco worked I relaxed in bed. We grabbed breakfast at the hotel and hung out.

That night, we had tickets to see a football game, so off we went to Jersey!

This was our second time in NYC and we stayed in Midtown for the first time, which we really liked. Last time we stayed in Times Square, which was an awesome experience, but I also feel like if you’ve stayed there once, it may be enough. We wanted something a little less touristy, busy but still in the heart of the city with easy access to shopping.

Like I mentioned above, we took this trip without a super scheduled or packed agenda, simply to accommodate me being pregnant without a ton of energy. It was so nice to getaway, but I was a little worried as NYC is definitely the kind of getaway where you’re often constantly on the go (which is part of the fun!). This time, our pace was definitely slower than you’d expect, but we still had a great time.

We are now on baby watch 2020 😉 and ready to go anytime (5 days overdue, today). I thought I’d finally share these trip photos since I got a little burst of energy and and just relaxing on the couch tonight. Hope you girls are having a great weekend & see you soon xo
