LAYING IN | CHIC NURSING FRIENDLY OUTFIT

Before giving birth, I had read a little bit about ‘the first 40 days’ post birth, which essentially is a time for the mother to stay home and focus on her baby and her recovery. It’s truly about giving yourself that fleeting time and space to adjust to your new life and soak it in.

While I haven’t fully committed to staying in for the past 40 days, we have been really intentional about spending time as a family of three. This article about 12 Honest Tips for the First Year has already rang so true, as well–it’s truly a huge adjustment (and a time spent mostly in pajamas and no make-up!). That said, there are definitely days you want to look and feel good, so today is about exactly that–without sacrificing comfort.

O U T F I T D E T A I L S : NURSING SWEATSHIRT | JOGGERSMADE FOR PREGNANCY TOO | SNEAKERS | SLIPPERS

I’ve had friends suggest various nursing garments but they really didn’t feel like me. Now that I’m in the thick of feeding this baby every few hours, I totally understand their purpose, but at the same time, finding something that is equally stylish and functional isn’t always the easiest. Enter Bump & Bae, an online shop (based in Canada) that carries the the most gorgeous pieces that work for pregnancy and afterwards (hello this outfit!).

The sweatshirt I’m wearing is something I would normally gravitate towards for weekend wear (and everyday now, TBH). It’s got a slim fit and a high neckline, but the kicker is the secret two-way zipper under the bust, hidden by a design detail fold that goes all the way around. No one would ever think this is a nursing top, which is exactly why I love it–perfect for if you actually want to leave the house, but super comfy to lounge around in as well. I’m wearing a medium, which is my pre-pregnancy size and the fit is great plus there is some room if you had a small bump, as well.

The joggers are my new fave pants–they feel like a legging with the slouch of a slim fit pair of sweats and they are so good! These are actually made to be worn while pregnant and afterwards, which is great. You girls saw some of the pieces I purchased while pregnant, and once the baby weight is gone, I won’t be reaching for those items, unlike these joggers, which will stay in heavy rotation. They have a drawstring waist and elastic band that isn’t too tight, and a slight drop crotch (if you want to wear them that way. I’m wearing a size medium which is a great fit (so go true to size).

Very excited to share that Bump & Bae is offering you girls 15% off everything (with new Spring & Summer pieces arriving in the coming weeks)! Simply use code LIFEWITHACO15 at checkout (and let me know what you end up getting!).
