EASY FALL OUTFIT

I’ve talked about wearing one colour from head to toe on the blog a lot, so it’s not surprise that it’s an often fail-proof way to get dressed when standing in your closet with ‘nothing to wear’.  Black is always an easy go to, but grey is a great way to shift outside the norm a little, while still keeping things neutral and appealing to the eye.

To take this outfit from boring to stylish, for me it always comes down to the shoes.  I often find myself dressing around the my shoes–picking out the pair I want to wear, and then establishing the outfit around it.  This doesn’t always work, but what does work is grabbing a neutral pair of heels or booties (tan, nude or cognac would be great options) to pair with all grey.  It breaks up the monochrome, but still feels fresh.

I’ve had this Free People sweater in my closet for a few years (remember it also in the cream colour from this post?) and I’m constantly grabbing for it.  I usually pair a white, chiffon cami underneath for more coverage like this, so depending on where you’re going/what you’re doing, you can choose.  An open knit like this is great for date night with a lacy bralette too.

O U T F I T  D E T A I L S  :  FREE PEOPLE SWEATER — OLD (SIMILAR, BUDGET FRIENDLY)  |  SUNGLASSES  |  GRAY DENIM (SAME WITH FINISHED HEM)  |  PEEP TOE BOOTIES  |  BAG (BUDGET FRIENDLY)

This is the type of outfit I would wear out on the weekend, when I went to look put together but still be comfortable.  These peep toe booties have served me so well over the last two years and these ones are almost identical.  They look fantastic with denim, but are also great with shorter skirts and dresses as well.  If you have a slightly more casual work environment, they could work there as well.

Hope you girls are having a great week.  I was at a course yesterday on employee engagement and leadership, which was pretty interesting, and hoping to bring some of the pieces I learned there back to my 9-5.  Would business related posts be something that would interest you girls?  Seems so foreign to discuss those things on the blog, but happy to share more if it sparks a conversation.  Have a great Wednesday!
