WEEKEND RECAP: IPHONE SNAPS

Hey hey hey!  Hope you all had a great weekend.

I was a little under the weather to kick off the weekend but ended on a high note with our second annual Christmas brunch, so let’s jump in!

We hosted the brunch on Sunday.  Last year I think we were 15 people and this year only 7 but still a great crew and a tad easier to manage the timing of food!  Haha!

We did smoked salmon eggs benedict, bacon eggs benedicts, home fries and a mixed salad.  On tap we had coffee, mimosas and a Caesar bar.

Afterwards, we had a fun wine exchange (for the first time), wherein everyone brought a bottle of wine, then we did it White Elephant gift style–it was actually so fun and everyone gets to go home and try something new!

TEDDY COAT  |  BLACK TOP  |  H&M JEANS (SIMILAR)  |  WINTER BOOTS (BUDGET FRIENDLY)  |  BAG

Since everyone left mid-afternoon, I was able to get out and do some Christmas shopping.  I’m getting there but no where close to done!  AH.  We are hosting our families this week so the pressure is on to finish!

I also have to mention the top I’m wearing above–it’s a basic black, 3/4 sleeve, boatneck top and I wear it so much since purchasing in the fall.  I have it in white as well and wear it a ton for work, usually with skirts, and it’s only $15.  The quality is awesome and it’s a thicker, stretch fabric that just feels good.  I don’t usually wear a super snug top with denim, but since the ones I’m wearing are high-waisted, the snug top looks (and feels) great with them.  Totally random but a really good budget-friendly find that I’ve been wearing over and over again for months.

thick knit blanket, pink chunky sweater blanket

This blanket haunts me!  I’ve seen it twice now in two stores (only one of them in the entire store, of both) and I want it so bad!  It feels a little frivolous to spend $130 on a blanket I don’t technically need 😉 especially, this time of year, but it’s so gorgeous, wah!

I’ve also seen it in grey and beige but the blush pink is just so stunning to me.  I’ve seen much pricier versions of this style of blanket all over the Internet too.

white christmas tree neutral

Finally got our white tree up!  I picked up this 7-foot pine last year, after Christmas, and it’s been in the box ever since.  I was so excited to bring it out this year, but the thought of investing in a ton of ornaments was holding me back (we have our big tree up in the living room already).

However, I purchased some poly-batting (in the craft/sew section at Walmart) and stuffed that in between the branches all around and it turned out so pretty!  It makes the tree look so much fuller and like there is snow on it.  It’s really cute.  I added a large silver metal star on the top and used a white faux sheepskin rug we have for the ‘skirt’.  It looks so good I’m not even going to purchase ornaments for it and leave it as is.  I think we are moving towards trees without ornaments (will likely see a lot of them next year), so that’s what I’m going to do with this one.

I hope you girls had a great weekend! xo
