EASY CASUAL OUTFIT & RANDOM CHIT CHAT

Hoping on to share another spring transitional outfit. Honestly, I thought winter was coming to a close, our backyard was pretty much all grass, roads were dry and sneakers were an option on weekends 😉 Then we had another crazy snowstorm yesterday–what on earth?! Back to you, Mother Nature *insert eye roll*

Anyway, it gives me time to break out the ‘in-between’ jackets, or spring/fall jackets as my Mom likes to call them! This one today is from Zara (I shared it as soon as I got it in my Boxing Day try-on) but has since sold out, this one is kind of similar though and on sale and here is the newer one from Zara.

O U T F I T D E T A I L S : ZARA COAT — SOLD OUT (SIMILAR, SIMILARON SALE + 20% OFF!) | FREE PEOPLE TOPON SALE! | BLACK SKINNY DENIM20% OFF TILL FRIDAY! I LOVE THESE | SNEAKERS (THESE ARE 25% OFF TILL FRIDAY, LOVE THESE, BUDGET FRIENDLY) | CELINE BAG (BUDGET FRIENDLY)

As far as this outfit goes, this is such a go-to look for me on weekends–now that the roads are dry (well… they were dry), I’m breaking out all my sneakers and so excited to be able to wear them again. Also, when all else fails: all black everything with a different coloured jacket works wonders. A black sneaker would look great with this look too, I just really wanted to share my newest pair.

Can I just say how much I love that you girls are loving the Try-On Tuesday sessions? I know I’ve talked about this several times on IG Stories during our morning walk, but I don’t think I’ve mentioned it here, so thank you!! Thank you for DM’ing me or even if you’ve thought about it and enjoy it, thank you. I’m so so so glad. To be honest, I’m loving it too! It’s so nice to connect that way, versus having to be so “formal”. Not that we have to be anything, but you know what I mean (I hope?). I also appreciate that you don’t mind if I have a little or a lot to share, but you just like to see what I have.

I’ve also been trying to incorporate pieces from previous try-ons that are still available so you can see items re-styled various ways to make it easier to figure out how the heck to wear it. I think we all walk into our closets some days and go, ‘Ugh, I have nothing to wear’ — which obviously isn’t true, but sometimes we just need a refresh or a couple new pieces to spark a little creativity.

When I purchase something, I try (key word is try 😉 ) to come up with five outfits I’ll be able to wear said piece with. I want to maximize my wardrobe and also stick to my style–which is typically neutrals, solids, classic basics and then a few, fun, trendy pieces (think a snake print item, a straw bag, a cropped or oversized denim jacket–both are on trend currently!–etc.). I would say if you’re shopping and having trouble deciding what to buy and what not to buy, think about what you have and if that piece ‘matches’ your closet or is completely out of left field. While I would definitely encourage stepping out of your comfort zone at times, there’s something to be said about spending on items you truly love and that fit your lifestyle (and closet 😉 ).

One more thing, I shared the Weekend Recap but you may have missed it since it went up late. Okay, enough yammering on! I hope you girls are having a great week and I’ll see you tomorrow! xo
