Helloooooo August! I’m not quite ready to switch gears to fall, but wanted to share this super cute knit sweater and skirt set that is on sale for a couple more days. I actually hadn’t seen this before going to the store and when I tried it on, really loved it.
It’s cozy and cute, and would be great even now paired with sneakers or just the sweater and denim shorts for a cooler evening.

I sized up to a large in the sweater for a slightly roomier fit, but I wouldn’t say it’s oversized. The skirt is also a large, which gives me a little more length than the medium, plus the elastic waistband is stretchy but firm so sizing up felt comfy for this kind of outfit. This actually reminds me of an outfit my Mom knit for me when I was a kid and used to do figure skating! It was this cornflower blue knit sweater with a pink and white pattern that went around the shoulders and then the matching skater skirt! Oh man, I wish I still had that thing to show you (not that it would fit)!
Also very excited to see these boots on sale. This brand does sales frequently, but usually just 30% off. I bought mine (all three colours) during 40% off sales last year, but love them so much I would have paid full price if I had too! I mean, I probably wouldn’t have gotten all three colours that way… but you know what I mean 😉 The boots are so good, stay up over my knee and run more narrow/fitted in the shaft (and it’s a thick, stretchy fabric). I love the lower block heel, which is great for actual winter conditions, but the soft pointed toe makes them feel a little dressier. I would say they run a tad small, so size up (I have the 41).
What are you girls up to this weekend? We have a birthday tonight and our niece coming to stay with us too–fun! Otherwise, it’s pretty open which I’m not mad about. Something always tends to pop up and if it doesn’t, seeing where the day takes us always works. So excited it’s a long weekend here for us in Canada!
Lastly, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends this weekend, Sunday is the last day to shop the sale prices, then everything will be back up to the full price. I know I didn’t cover the sale as extensively as in year’s past–I had sort of planned to, but just lost a little passion for it this year. I truly shopped for just a few, key pieces I wanted and need for my wardrobe and I hope you girls can appreciate that I didn’t want to bombard you.
