Comin’ atcha with a good ol’ outfit post today–it’s been a while!
I feel like there has been a lot of baby posts lately, and while it’s currently what I’m living 24/7 & love sharing anything we are loving over here, I obviously still love fashion and want to share those things too!
So today, let’s talk clothes & a few life updates after the jump…
O U T F I T D E T A I L S : TEE | JEANS | BANGLE ANKLET | PENDANT NECKLACE (SIMILAR RECTANGLE STYLE) | SIMILAR CHAIN ANKLET (BUDGET FRIENDLY — AMAZING PRICE FOR GOLD PLATED, 70% OFF!)
First things first, the outfit. I snagged these jeans back in February when I was looking for something that would fit me postpartum (because my regular jeans certainly did not). They are unlike anything else I own–a looser fit all around, straight/slightly wide leg & a very 90’s blue. I sized up to a 31 and when I got them, they. were. tight. Like, verrrrrry snug to get done up. Now, five months later, I could probably size down to my usual size (30) because these are feeling loose (which is nice but they are also V comfortable so no rush to squeeze into anything smaller 😉 ).
The tee, I shared on Try-On Tuesday, about a month ago and I’m still loving it! It’s a really great basic for around $15, great quality and the cut is just so different than any other t-shirts I own. It’s a tad cropped and I went with an XL so it would be roomy (and it is). You could probably take your true size.
And lastly, while we’re chatting fashion, this anklet! Ooooh, I totally was got by an Instagram ad, but I already knew of the brand. It’s like a bangle for your anklet and I love that. It’s so different and chic, and kind of a statement piece at the same time (I like to pair it with my chain anklet but it looks great on it’s own as well. Would also be super cute paired with this anklet). Plus it’s gold plated so you can wear it and it’s going to last. I’ve pretty much stopped buying costume jewelry at this point because it just changes colour so quickly–so, I started putting that money towards fewer, investment pieces (gold plated, vermeil or full) that I will love and wear forever.
As for things around here, some of you girls saw on Stories that I was going through some boxes in our basement a couple weeks ago as we were starting to purge and organize all the stuff down there. We are now finishing our basement, and it’s looking so good! So far it’s framed and Marco has been so great at planning and helping me visualize the space we will eventually have down there.
We are also working on decorating the house–slowly but surely. I’m definitely in the camp of waiting to purchase the things/item you really love versus buying something for the interim. While it’s somewhat annoying when you’re living with empty spaces, when you do get that piece you’ve been eyeing or find the perfect item, it’s so much more rewarding to bring it in. Speaking of, I’m sitting in our living room in these photos & we just purchased some art and a new sideboard and have totally switched things up. It’s actually coming together & I’m so excited! It’s been three years in our home and it’s truly a process to furnishing and decorating it. I wish I could be someone that gets it done within the first few months, but, I just need time to live in it and see what we truly, truly want it to look like. You can see a little more of our home here.
Lastly, Hendrix is doing well, he is over six months and becoming such a little person now. Wow. It’s unreal how much and how fast they change in the first… well, six months thus far! 😛 I know everyone says it, but sheesh, the time is kind of flying and yet isn’t at the same time. Maybe I’ll share a full update on him since there are so many new milestones–teeth, movement, sleep, etc. I know I still need to share his dresser DIY and I have been working so hard on organizing all his clothes and closet, and will share a post on that too, soon. It can be a challenge to sit down at my computer but I do miss you girls and this space!
That about wraps things up around here. I hope you’re having an awesome week!
