Hello hello! How is your week going? It’s been forever since I shared a Try-On Tuesday and I have some new summer items I’m itching to wear out the house! Namely, some new denim shorts that are under $20 (that you may remember from last year if you’re been around here for a while…), a couple new tops from my fave brand & the denim style you need to update your wardrobe.
As always, I’m sharing everything live on IG Stories today, so head over there to check it out (which I’ll save to highlights after they expire, like always). Let’s jump in…
FREE PEOPLE TOP | URBAN PLANET SHORTS | GOLDEN GOOSE SNEAKERS (SIMILAR, SIMILAR)
I la la love this top! I actually was purchasing this other top and decided to add the one you see here to my basket as well at the last minute–turns out, I’m wearing this one way more than the one I originally purchased! It’s so easy to throw on and go, works with denim, sweats and shorts, and is just super flattering. I find the brand runs big, always, so I sized down to a small and it’s perfect. This top is not cropped by any means, but it’s not long where it will cover your butt. It’s a great length, especially if you want to tuck it.
The shorts–do you girls remember these shorts from last year?! I purchased three pairs last year when I was about a month postpartum as we were headed to Florida for a vacation and none of my shorts fit (naturally). Last year I sized up several sizes, and wore those shorts all summer long. We even sold them out at the time! The good news though, is they are back and again, on sale for under $20. I needed to get some new pairs of shorts that fit me now, and knew these would be perfect for this summer. I’ll save my other ones, in the bigger size, for down the road if we have another baby and I need some good postpartum shorts.
ZARA TANK (SIMILAR) | URBAN PLANET SHORTS | ZARA SLIDES (SIMILAR)
These are the slides I was telling you girls about in my Spring Wish List blog post–I got them, and they are so cute! They are actually super lightweight, despite being real leather, which surprised me. They remind me of these flatforms I had in the early 2000’s from American Eagle–I wore those shoes outttttt! These will be great with shorts, rompers, denim and skirts all summer long, but comfortable and easy to run around in as well.
Same shorts as above but in white–freaking love these!! I am telling you, if you need some high waisted denim shorts, don’t sleep on these, the bigger sizes are already starting to sell out in some colours.
ZARA ARM WARMER | BP TANK (SIMILAR) | H&M FAUX LEATHER SKIRT | ZARA SLIDES (SIMILAR)
I think I’ve finally found an arm warmer sweater I’m feeling!! Love the crochet of this one, feels light and airy for spring/summer, but also heavy enough to have nice structure. It also has a matching cami that comes separate (but it wasn’t available yet when I ordered this a few weeks back).
This skirt is a fave that I wanted to share again because it’s still in stock and such a great price and fit. I also have it in olive green–it’s high waist and sooo flattering.
H&M TOP | ZARA JEANS (SIMILAR) | ZARA SLIDES (SIMILAR)
This top, these jeans–you guys, I’m loving the 90’s/early 2000’s trends we are seeing.
I snagged this top a couple months back, but it’s still available–it’s so good! It’s definitely on the cropped side, but I also sized down to a small because I find with ribbed fabric, any looseness will add bulk, which we don’t want. That said, with high waisted pants/skirt, you’ll still be covered. Also love the v in the front and back.
The jeans! I’ve been on a Zara jean streak for about a year now. I swore off Zara jeans a few years back because I found they always stretched out and slid down, but lately their denim collection has been on fire. I especially love them for trendier styles, when you want to dip your toe in without breaking the bank. These ones are the wide leg ones I shared in this reel (pair #3)–they have a raw hem, ankle slits and a softer back pocket look. These are also super high rise, they actually cover my belly button, which is uncommon for me, making the rise about 11″.
H&M TOP | ZARA WHITE DENIM | BOOHOO HEELS — OLD (SIMILAR)
Another great ribbed top find, this one is thicker than the white one above, but due to that, I sized down to an extra small to ensure a snug fit without the extra bulk. I’m usually a medium in tops, but when it comes to ribbed fabric, I always recommend sizing down.
I just got these white jeans in and wasn’t sure I’d keep them until I put this outfit together–love! These are a stiff denim with an ankle slit, and I went up one size. I had ordered my usual size, actually, and could barely get them zipped up, they definitely run snug.
FREE PEOPLE TOP | URBAN PLANET SHORTS | ZARA SLIDES (SIMILAR)
Back in this top again but with the blue denim shorts. Again, same shorts as the white and black ones above, but in a light wash that I’m loving. You can see me wearing these shorts (in several sizes bigger) last year here. These shorts are so comfortable, have a ton of stretch (they almost feel like a legging), and wash and dry up great. Last year, as I was slowly shrinking (postpartum), I would throw the shorts in the dryer, and they came out perfect. This year, since these shorts fit perfectly, I’ll just hang them with everything else. Love these shorts and can’t recommend them enough (esp for the price: under $20!).
Hope you girls enjoyed this try-on, it’s been a while! I felt almost out of practice on Stories when filming this, but also wanted to share some new things I’ll be wearing this summer, before they sell out. You can see all previous Try-On Tuesday posts here. Hope you’re having a good week thus far xo
