TRY-ON TUESDAY

blonde girl wearing white culottes and snake print lace up heels

Hello hello! Back with another weekly try-on session–we are getting closer and closer to spring (woot!) but I’m still incorporating some colder weather styles too because technically we still have a solid month or so of snow, so!

As always, everything is linked below each photo and at the end of the post. I’ve shared everything in video on Instastories today too, so if you haven’t seen that yet and would like to see how things move, drape, fit, etc. and hear my additional thoughts, you can see that here.

Last week we did a huge swimsuit try-on and you guys were so so so kind! Thank you. It wasn’t easy putting that out there, and it felt like you girls all got it–and also loved the budget-friendly suits too 🙂

With that, let’s jump in!

BLUSH SWEATER | NECKLACE | WHITE DENIM CULOTTES | SNAKE PRINT LACE UP HEELS

I threw these wide leg cropped pants (aka culottes) into my cart without high expectations but they’ve actually surprised me! Also, not sure about you, but I feel like I’m seeing these everywhere lately. I totally rocked this style back in the day and had an almost identical pair (they were likely super low rise, who am I kidding 😉 ) never thought I’d wear them again but alas here we are … and loving it!

I took my usual size (8) and they are a good and snug fit. The rise is high but still falls below my belly button and they are a heavy, but stretchy denim. I love the raw hem it feels fresh, and the pockets in the back are like normal jeans pockets, so V flattering. Also, not see through at all and totally budget friendly–a great pair to snag if you want to try the trend out with committing to much $$$.

The sweater is one I’ve had in my closet for years (case in point), but they keep bringing it back (love that!). I’m wearing a size medium.

Since this sweater is quite open in the back, if you’re not wearing anything underneath you would ideally wear a backless bra. However, I always pair it with a bandeau or a cami for more coverage. Also love this bralette which would be so pretty peeking out as well.

I’m wearing this bra, but you can see the strap when I turn around; however there is the same style in this backless option, which is amazing and the same brand as the backless bra I wore, loved and shared in this post.

SHOP BRA OPTIONS

RIBBED HENLEY | NECKLACE | H&M SNAKE PRINT SKIRT — SOLD OUT (ALMOST IDENTICAL) | SNAKE PRINT LACE UP HEELS

So crazy about this gorgeous, ribbed sweater–it’s so flattering and feminine and looks so pretty paired with skirts or a looser pair of jeans.

While I love the look of ribbed fabric, it usually doesn’t suit me well because it can add bulk–however, with this one, I sized down (to a small) so it made it extra snug and actually works. The sleeves are a great length too, especially for sizing down, and it looks way more expensive than it is.

You’ve seen this skirt before and it’s since sold out but this one is almost identical and I am loving this trend! It’s so versatile, and if you threw on a pump, this outfit would be amazing for the office.

SNAKE PRINT LACE UP HEELS

Okay, real talk about these shoes: I stalked them for weeks!

I first saw them on ASOS and wanted to cry when they didn’t have my size. I checked the brand’s website and they didn’t have them in the snake print (I’m linking them and all the similar styles below–there are a lot of options!). I kept checking back hoping they would be restocked, and no such luck.

One day, on my lunch break, I was perusing Instagram and you know how you get those ads now, in between Stories? It was an ad for the snake print shoes!!! I don’t think I’ve ever swiped up faster in my life 😉 Sure enough, they had my size and it was a done deal.

As far as shipping & duty are concerned, I’m in Canada and had to pay both (ugh). However, since the shoes were somewhat budget friendly to begin with, and considering how badly I wanted them, I would say it was worth the additional $30.

I’m wearing my true size (10, which is a UK size 8) and they fit perfect. My feet are wide so the clear strap is pretty snug, but I’m going to stretch it a little by putting a glass or bottle in the shoe so it gives a little. The lace up straps are thick and well made, the shoes are generally comfortable and sturdy to walk in. The heel is like a flattened square stiletto–which is a hot trend for spring–and I love it! So excited to bring these on vacation with me.

LONG CARDIGAN | NECKLACE | WHITE TEE | DISTRESSED BLACK DENIM | OVER THE KNEE BOOTSTHE BEST! (ALSO IN TAN & GREY)

Alright ladies, I’m breaking out the big guns here–my new over the knee boots.

Oh. Em. Gee.

First of all, yes, everyone and their mother have these boots (or so it seems), however, there is a reason: they are so freaking good!

I snagged these in black a couple weeks back after ordering them back in December. I had them shipped to my US postal box, so it took some time + had to make a trip down to get them. I had originally purchased these ones by Steve Madden, but was on the fence about the length/height of the boot shaft. After a couple weeks, I still hadn’t worn them–something was holding me back–so I decided to return them, and order the ones you’re seeing today instead. While the Steve Madden ones are a little lower in price, they don’t come up quite as high and in hindsight the shaft material isn’t as nice. Also, the ones I’m wearing today are even more comfortable!

Since getting these in the mail, I’ve worn them four times in a week–which is saying something. I even ordered the tan and grey because they had a 50% off sale on the weekend (which I shared on my FB page; I always share sales there first if it’s not worthy of a full post).

I sized up per all the reviews to a 41 (which is the size I wear at Zara and in our favourite Le Chateau boots) and they fit perfectly. There is a zipper up the back of the leg, which runs about halfway up and the fabric for the shaft is thick, stretchy and like a micro-fibre. It’s so nice. Truly these were an amazing purchase and the site often does 20% – 30% off discount codes, so if they don’t have one when you’re reading this post, just check back in a few days and there will likely be one. I scored mine for 30% off & looks like that’s what they are currently running with code LOVESPRING.

LONG CARDIGAN | JAMES PERSE DRESS (SIMILAR) | NECKLACE | OVER THE KNEE BOOTSTHE BEST! (ALSO IN TAN & GREY)

Another look at the boots but with a dress, just wanted to show you how they look with bare legs.

I have a couple real outfit posts coming with these boots as well, but cannot recommend them enough.

DENIM JACKET | JAMES PERSE DRESS (SIMILAR) | NECKLACE | FURRY MULES

I probably should have called this a shoe haul because now it’s all about these furry slides! I snagged these in a half size down (9.5) simply because I had tried on the 10 a couple years back in store and they were good but I like the snugger fit of the 9.5.

These are a Gucci dupe and under $30. They are cozy and comfortable and just so cute with jeans, dresses and leggings. I will be wearing these a ton come spring.

Also, this denim jacket is the same one I brought with me to Vegas and I’m loving it. It washed up great after our trip and I love the slightly cropped sleeve and oversized fit. The wash is the perfect mid-blue colour and it fits great (I’m in a small simply because it does run big).

blonde wearing black aerie bikini and tassel cover up

BLACK BIKINI TOP | NECKLACE | BIKINI BOTTOMS | TASSEL SARONG | ZARA SLIDES — OLD (SIMILAR)

Okay, I’m obsessed with this sarong!

It’s actually a triangle scarf (at least, that’s how the model is wearing it), but as soon as I saw it I envisioned it over a black bikini. Bonus is there is tons of coverage (or not) if you want.

You can find last week’s full swimsuit try-on session here. I’m wearing a medium in the top & large in the bottoms.

BLACK BOATNECK TOP | NECKLACE | ZARA LEOPARD SHORTS (SIMILAR, SIMILAR) | HEELS | FURRY MULES

If you followed along on IG Stories while I was in Vegas, you saw this black boatneck top… and that I ripped a hole in it! It’s been in my closet for almost a year and I wear it frequently–probably every other week. I also have it in white. It’s just a great basic staple to have, fits so well, is a really nice thick stretchy cotton and very flattering, plus it’s under $15.

That said, I couldn’t really salvage the one I ripped so I ordered a new one because I love it that much. It should also be noted I don’t think it was the fabric that caused the rip, it was more the user 😉 I’m wearing a size small, but am normally a medium, but simply wanted it to be really snug fitting to tuck into skirts, shorts and the like.

My shorts are from Zara and sold out (I got them on super sale), but I love a dressier/leopard short to dress up a summertime look–such a good alternative to a dress if you’re more of a pants person like me. I found so many similar and budget friendly styles too so am linking them below in the widget.
